Chaka V. Reid is a multifaceted writer and novelist. She has beguiled readers byline by byline, appearing in such magazines as O-The Oprah magazine, NOW, Lush, and Lifestyle Ontario, amongst others (see Portfolio page). She has also written for corporate advertising projects, including beauty brands such as TRESemmé and Vidal Sassoon, as well as starring in her own advertisement, a two-page spread for Cover Girl in Elle magazine (see Media page).

A graduate from York University, with an honors degree in English and Film, her engaging urbane writing continues to evolve into a signature mix of wit and edge. She has worked with the Toronto International Film Festival and currently works with the Toronto International Deaf Film & Arts Festival as an editor and programmer. She is currently working on her M.A. in Film. An avid music lover, and iPod DJ, she has recently completed her first novel (inspired by her childhood love of Lenny Kravitz).
